Mullah Fazlullah or Mullah Radio is known for Army Public School (APS) massacre in which over 130 school children were killed and attack on Malala Yousafzai. He became Emir of TTP after the death of Hakimullah Mehsud on 7th November 2013 via lucky draw, according to the former TTP Spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan. Although, he had been operating as chief of TTP Swat faction prior to that.

Mullah Fazlullah was nicknamed as Mullah Radio after his daily hours long fiery sermons broadcasted on illegal radio station in Swat before Opeation Rah-e-Raast in 2009. He was critically injured during the operation but managed to escape while his close aides including Muslim Khan were captured.
